Hi, I’m Hannah (she/her)

A Vancouver, B.C.- based registered clinical counsellor (RCC # 21824) with a Master’s degree in counselling psychology. I specialize in working with youth and their caregivers, young adults and athletes to support their mental health and unlock their unique potentials. It is the greatest honour when clients allow me into their private worlds and walk alongside them as they navigate life’s ups and downs.

With combined 15+ years of experience in the world of elite sport and youth coaching as well as the mental health field, I recognize the pressures that young people face as they navigate our complex world. I believe that through genuine connection and a tailored, evidence-based approach, growth and healing is inevitable.

My Story

My path to becoming a counsellor began with my own mental health struggles. What started from a seemingly innocent perfectionist tendency, grew into constant, debilitating anxiety that began to control many aspects of my life.

At the age of 16, I was selected to the Canadian Women’s Field Hockey team and began training and competing for Canada. All at once I found myself in the world of high-pressure elite sport, struggling to find a sense of belonging amongst my new adult teammates. The “suck it up” mentality prevalent in elite sport, the fear of appearing weak, and my lack of coping skills, led me to suffer in silence for many years.

To this day, I believe my greatest accomplishment was finding the courage to ask for help. I can truly say that connecting with the right therapist changed my life and allowed me to unlock my greater potential as an individual as well as an athlete.

Armed with my lived experiences, I feel fortunate to now be in a position to support others going through their own mental health challenges. Equally rewarding is the work I get to do with caregivers, helping them better understand and support the youth in their life.

While we can overcome hard things, I believe that we shouldn’t have to do them alone.

About Me

Outside of my work as a counsellor, I am an elite field hockey player, a youth field hockey coach, and a public speaker. I am also a daughter, sister, niece, and friend and it is these roles that have helped shaped me into the fun, quirky, (and sometimes messy) human I am today.

Some of my favourite things include exploring our local mountains with friends, drinking a good cup of coffee, getting lost in a book and petting cute dogs I meet. I look forward to meeting you!
